Shreveport, LA - Perry Lusby age 83, passed away after losing the battle of Covid-19 on his birthday April 23, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Mr. Lusby was born to Lexie and Eddie Lusby on April 23, 1937 in Waldo, Arkansas. He didn't have a long list of academics and accomplishments but what he did have was so much more than that. He was a long term resident of Garden Park Nursing Home and Rehab Facility and was an active member of the chapel there. He enjoyed riding his bicycles, his wagons, singing "I'll Fly Away" and spending time with friends and family. He loved all holidays but he especially loved his birthday because he knew that he would have a birthday party and peach pie. Mr. Lusby would always wear three or more watches but he didn't pay attention to the time, and you had best not depend on the accuracy of the time on either of his watches because you will probably be late. He always knew what time to eat, go to church and when it was his bedtime. You could always find him smiling, singing and drinking his cold coke.
Mr. Lusby was preceded in death by his parents; infant siblings; sister, Mary Ruth; brother, Buster "Buck" Lusby. He is survived by his sister in law; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will have a private graveside service at Riddick Cemetery in Troy, Arkansas.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his extended family at Garden Park Nursing Home and Rehab Facility.
In lieu of flowers have yourself a cold coke and some peach pie.
Fly away Uncle Perry, fly away.
