A graveside service for Philip F. DeFatta, 67, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent. Officiating the service will be Pastor Ray Rainey. Visitation will be at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Philip was born on February 27, 1953 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Anthony Philip DeFatta and Sudie Dean DeFatta and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 18, 2020 after a lengthy illness. He was a resident of Bossier City, Louisiana. He graduated from Fair Park High School. He worked in sales and marketing. Philip spent many years working in the family business, "A.P. DeFatta's Food Market". He was a family man and loving father. He enjoyed fishing, golf, horseracing and LSU football. He also cherished his four legged friend, Buttercup. He is survived by his mother; wife of 31 years Deborah DeFatta; three children, Christopher M. DeFatta and his wife, Rita of Shreveport, Louisiana, Philip J. DeFatta of Tampa, Florida and McKenzie DeFatta of Bossier City, Louisiana; two brothers, Anthony P. DeFatta of Houston, Texas and Michael B. DeFatta of New Orleans, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Megan Richardson, Trenton DeFatta, Anthony Austin DeFatta, Caleb Richardson, Brody DeFatta and great-granddaughter, Emilia Culver. Honoring Philip as pallbearers will be Christopher DeFatta, Trenton DeFatta, Michael DeFatta Sr., Michael DeFatta Jr., Wayne Westerfield and John Roy Fulco. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Heart Association, 10 Glenlake Pkwy NE South Tower Suite 400 Atlanta, GA 30328.
