Rhodie Golden, age 75, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 13, 2020 in Mansfield, Louisiana. Funeral services honoring the life of Rhodie Golden will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. Chucky Clark. Interment will follow the service at Cassell Cemetery in Converse, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Rhodie was born on April 4, 1945 in Converse, Louisiana to the late Homer and Pearl Golden. He was a truck driver for years, who loved to tell a good joke to anyone who would listen. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Stacy Golden and TJ McCall; one brother, EC Golden; five sisters, Mary Thurkill, Jeanette Ross, Adele Roberts, Beatrice Manshack, and Elsie Mouser. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Paulette Golden of Converse, LA; one daughter. Laura Yarbrough and husband Ronnie of Carmel, LA; four sons, James Golden and wife Jeanie of Zwolle, LA, Donny Spillyards and wife Margaret of Converse, LA, Walter Spillyards Jr. and wife Kristy of Converse, LA and Danny Spillyards of Converse, LA; 11 grandchildren, Katie Wilkerson and husband Kyle of Carmel, LA, Emery Yarbrough of Mansfield, LA, Brittani Figueiredo and husband TresPaul of Shreveport, LA, Scott Golden of Frierson, LA, Amanda Spillyards of Converse, LA, Amber Spillyards of Keithville, LA, Jennifer Cutrer and husband Phillip of Many, LA, Danette Rodgers and husband Andrew of Converse, LA, Jason Spillyards of Franklin, LA, James Ray Campbell of Converse, LA, and Logan Spillyards of Converse, LA. He has nine great-grandchildren that he absolutely adored and a host of family and friends who will truly miss him. Honoring Rhodie as pallbearers will be Emery Yarbrough, Donny Spillyards, James Ray Campbell, Joseph Page, Amber Spillyards, and Andrew Rodgers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Scott Golden and Kyle Wilkerson. The family would like to thank DeSoto Retirement for their love and care for the past nine years. Special thanks to Ms. Linda, Ms. Sharon, Ms. Mary, Carrie Raborn, and so many more that truly loved him.
