Rhonda Monick

We have been so fortunate that our Lord has lent Rhonda to us for as long as he has, and now he has called her home to share eternal life with him. Our mother, wife, sister and friend Rhonda Jorgensen Monick went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2017. She was born on September 17, 1961 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother Bernice Hobbs Hicks, her maternal father Russell Jorgensen, and her step-father Allen Hicks. Rhonda was the proud (mostly) mother of Trace Evans (fiancé Joni Camp) and loving wife of Tom Monick. She was blessed to have also shared her life with her sisters, Renee Tims (Mike), Amy Scott (Cameron), Jan Wagener (Dean), brothers, Randy Jorgensen, Rusty Jorgensen (Darlene) and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, she has been fortunate to have had a huge number of friends both personally and professionally that she cherished. Rhonda was the Business Manager for the Department of Urology at LSU-Health Science Center for twenty-five (25) years. She graduated from Northwood High School and later graduated from Louisiana Tech University (Magna Cum Laude). Rhonda thoroughly enjoyed traveling, in particular to Montana, New York and San Francisco. She was a fantastic photographer of everything from wildflowers to wild animals, to high school graduations. She loved running and walking with her friends. Her smile was beautiful and infectious. When she smiled, one could not help but feel the warmth. Visitation for Rhonda will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA Sunday, January 15, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Atlantic Ave, Shreveport, LA at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2017.
