Rita Rose Meehan

BOSSIER CITY, LA - A funeral mass for Rita Rose Meehan will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Officiating will be Msgr. Carson LaCaze. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. Rita was born May 19, 1929 in Erie, PA to Joseph and Rose Felix and passed away March 21, 2017 in Bossier City. She was a stewardess for Eastern Airlines, until she married in 1954.As a wife and mother, she raised six children. Rita enjoyed reading and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jim Felix and wife, Irene. Rita is survived by her husband of 63 years, John P. Meehan of Bossier City; sons, John T. Meehan and wife, Tracy of Bossier City, Thomas J. Meehan and wife, Rhonda of Dallas, TX; daughters, Laure Day and husband, Jimmy of Bossier City, Dianne Dickson and husband, Howard of Mansfield, LA, Kathleen Meehan Tabor of Shreveport, and Carolyn Meehan Bremer of Dallas, TX; sister, Mary Anne Kianka of Springfield, OH and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1942.
