Robert Bezigian

There will be a private graveside service held at Rose-Neath Cemetery for the family to celebrate the life of Robert (Bob) Bezigian. Born on June 12, 1929 in Providence, Rhode Island. He was born with the desire to fly and realized that ambition through Naval Aviation. After receiving his Pilot's Certification in 1947, He enlisted in the Naval Air Reserve in 1948. Once he graduated from Hope High School (1949) he went to Edgewood Jr. College. During the summer of 1950 he was called to active duty and later selected for Naval Cadet Pilot Training in Pensacola, Florida. He completed flight training and received the Navy's Wings of Gold in 1952. While serving as a flight instructor in Pensacola, he met and married Eileen Rose Lynch. During his 33 year career in the United States Navy, he proudly served his country and did so in many different capacities. He was highly recognized receiving Air Medal (with Gold Star), Naval Reserve Medal, China Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal (with Bronze Star), Korean Service Medal (with 2 Bronze Stars), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal (with Hourglass Device), and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation. Bob was a member of Fraternal Order of Daedalians. His hobbies included snow skiing, reading, fishing, gardening and working on cars. He had the uncanny ability to fix just about anything. While these were his hobbies, his life was dedicated to his family. He loved his family to a rare depth. If you knew Bob, you knew all about his four girls and how proud he was of each of them. He was also known for his kindness to others. Bob didn't know a stranger. If you met him, he talked to you, held the door for you, cared for you and you seldom left his presence without receiving a blessing that would give you God bumps from head to toe. He made people feel special. Robert was preceded in death by Eileen Bezigian, his parents Bedros and Anna Bezigian, brother Sarkis Bezigian, and sister Mary Zamanigian. He is survived by his daughters Mary Auger, Anne Parks and husband Billy, Barbara Sellers and husband Randy, and Susan Grau and husband Eric; grandchildren Sean (Randi), Erin, Annelise (Brock), Jared (Aleigha), Joshua, Daniel (Krislynn), Kristian and Jacob; great grandchildren Bre', Ava, Addison, Arwyn, Emma Rose, Micah and Daniel; and longtime friend and companion Welna Givens. His family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Louella Sutton, Pam Hymes, Johnella Gipson, and Casandra Montgomery who tirelessly loved and cared for Bob over the past 6 months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Pick It Forward for Orphans, or the donor's charity of choice. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, may the blessings of the Lord be upon each of you for now and ever, Amen. Job well done daddy.
