Doyline, LA - Services for Robert Curtis Farmer, Sr. will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Wylann Cloud. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Oil City, LA. Visitation will be prior to the service Friday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Curtis was born December 7, 1956 in Birmingham, AL and passed August 20, 2019 in Doyline, LA. Curtis loved his family and friends very much; he never met a stranger and loved every one he met. Peaceful mornings on Lake Bistineau with Rita and Bella on the front porch was a dream he achieved through many years as a successful businessman who took great pride in Louisiana Key and Lock, Service, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.Z. and Dot Farmer.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Rita Pierce Farmer of Doyline, LA; sons, Brandt Strother and Amber of Shreveport, LA, Daman Strother and Rhonda of Blanchard, LA, Robby Farmer and wife, Holly of Spanish Fort, LA, Todd Farmer and wife, Laura of Hayden, AL; daughter, Brigette Noles and husband, James of Dora, AL; sister, Tammy Farmer Sutton of Gardendale, AL; brother, Ronnie Farmer and wife, Janet of Gardendale, AL; sister-in-law, Patricia Allen of Shreveport, LA and grandchildren, Destin Strother, Jordan Strother, Colton Boyter, Aaron, Bailey and Clay Noles, Owen Gooch and Bo, Mollie and Brady Farmer.
Honoring Curtis as pallbearers will be, Brandt Strother, Daman Strother, Destin Strother, Colton Boyter, Jordan Strother and Daniel VanWinkle.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jeannie Sanders for her unwavering loyalty, support and caregiving of the family, also Willis Knighton Hospice Nurses, Collett and Angela and to the Willis Knighton Cancer Center doctors, nurses and staff.
