A memorial service honoring the life of Rodger Mark Bigham will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 522 E Flournoy Lucas Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana. Reverend Rothell Price will officiate the service. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Rodger Mark Bigham was born September 6, 1946 in Mattoon, Illinois to Edward and Bridget Bruns Bigham and passed away peacefully Monday, December 21, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Rodger spent most of his working career in the coal industry, starting his career in Illinois with Arch Mineral at the Captain Mine where he worked in warehousing and supply management. In 1977, Rodger moved to Alabama where he continued working in the coal industry in coal preparation, coal quality control, transportation, and operations. In 1993, Rodger moved to Louisiana, working for Dolet Hills Mining Venture, where he finished his career, in charge of purchasing and warehousing; an area where he excelled. Rodger also served in the US Air Force from 1964 -1968 during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anissa Bigham; his mother, Bridget Bigham; his father, Edward Bigham; three brothers, Thomas Bigham, David Bigham, and Steve Bigham.

Rodger is survived by his sons, Mark Bigham and Matthew Bigham; the mother of his children, Melba Scherle Flowers; his granddaughters, Tori Bigham Hubbard, Emily Bigham, Justice Bigham and Sarah Bigham; his brother, James Bigham; his sister, Bridget Bigham Moody; several nieces and nephews; and four sisters-in-law, Thuy Bigham, Judy Bigham, Carla Bigham, Laura Bigham, and Alyscia Bigham.
