Rodney was raised in West Monroe, Louisiana and retired in Mooringsport, Louisiana. Rodney lived a very simple life. Not much excited him unless it was a story about his kids or hunting. His favorite story to tell was how he waited 16 years, after being told by numerous doctors that he couldn't have children, to bring Jordon into this world. What a day that was! Rodney loved hard and deep. He struggled with how to show his emotions. Rodney was a very avid hunter. If you ever talked to him you got an ear full. When hunting season closed he picked up with basketball, football season and Nascar. He stayed up-to-date on the weather and Fox News. However, if anyone needed to know what the weather was going to do or what was happening in the White House, they called him. He did not consider himself politically correct, let's just say that! On top of all, he loved and cherished his children. He was proud to talk about them to anyone that would listen. He was the love of my life and figuring out tomorrow without him will not be easy. However, my kids and I will overcome because he is with us! Rodney is preceded in death by his grandparents, Harlan and Frances May, Walter McCormick and Annie Mae Stansell McCormick and step-mother, Vickie May. He is survived by his parents, Wayne May and Glenda McCormick; wife of 31 years, Mary Stahl May; children, Jordon Alexander May and Gracie Elizabeth May; special nephew, Michael Stahl; sister, Melena May McNeely, brothers, Randy May and Shane May; in laws, Cynthia Gill, Sandi White, Bubba Ray and Maggie McClendon; along with numerous nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly. Honoring Rodney as pallbearers will be Michael Stahl, Shane May, Kevin Jemelka, Parker Goldsack, Paityn White, Bubba Smith, Patrick Ellers and Nick Stone. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Randy May, James McCormick, Brian Dale, Johnny Cunningham and Joe Pitarro. The family suggests memorials be made to Dream Hunt Foundation, 315 Deer Crossing, Stonewall, LA, 71078.
