A graveside service for Ronald Lewis McHalffey, 86, will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent. Officiating the service will be Pastor Betsy Eaves.
Ronald was born on August 23, 1934 in Bossier City, Louisiana to Louis Winfred McHalffey and Esther Johnson and passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War for three years, until he was medically discharged. Upon his return, he began a career with the United States Post Office where he spent many years delivering mail and making friends along his route. He was fondly known as "Mr. Mac" where he always made time to say hello or to check in on the elderly as he delivered his route each day.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Thomas; wife of 61 years, Mary Thomas McHalffey and son-in-law, Tommy Sands. He is survived by his children, Debra Klavohn and husband, Terry, Mark McHalffey and wife, Phyllis, Donna Sepulvado and husband, Brad, Denise Sands and husband, Cyle Cochran, Dianna Canady and husband, Mark and Paul McHalffey and wife, Shanna; grandchildren, Kyle Sands and wife, Ashley, Kaitlin Rawlinson and husband, Jesse, Kelley Sands and wife, Emily, Christina Wentz and husband, Chase, Kelsey Williams and husband, Austin, Megan Sandifer and husband, Spence, Hunter Sepulvado, Kendal Lange and husband, Mitch, Joshua McHalffey and Sydney McHalffey; five great-grandchildren and one arriving any day!
