Graveside service for Ronda Hunter Dugan will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Bistineau Cemetery in Heflin, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Dee Anders officiating.
Ronda was born February 6, 1945 in Minden, Louisiana and entered into rest July 30, 2020 in Ruston, Louisiana.
At this difficult time, we are here to celebrate the life of Ronda....Momma....and Nana. Family was the most important thing in the world to her, and nothing made her happier than having \"all the chickens back at the roost.\"
Yesterday was Elton and Ronda\'s 55th wedding anniversary. Five years before they were married, Elton saw Ronda for the very first time. To this day he remembers vividly seeing her at the Sibley High School Gym and recalls exactly where she was sitting. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen and for him it was truly love at first sight. Soon after, Louise Adams introduced them at Uncle JT and Aunt Pud\'s house over brownies. They began dating and have been by each other\'s side ever since. Much of her life since retiring was spent with family in her home, her \"castle\" as Pam liked to jokingly refer to it with her. When their health began to decline, she took her parents Johnny and Sudie Hunter into her home and provided loving care to them in their later years. Many special Christmases were spent in the den opening presents. She welcomed any occasion as a time to fellowship with her family there, always including great food and much laughter. And as all who knew her can attest, Ronda loved to laugh.
The result from the momentous occasion so many years ago at the Sibley gym was the family she held so dear. The picture from her grandson Sam\'s wedding is the perfect representation of her life. It shows her as she truly was--a loving wife, devoted mother, and a grandmother who was so proud of her beautiful grandchildren.
Her passing leaves a great hole in all of her lives. We grieve that she is no longer with us, but know that she is now in a better place free from the pain she suffered for so much of her life and reunited with so many that she loved who are no longer with us. Over time our pain will fade, but our memory of her will not.
Thank you for joining us today to celebrate and remember Ronda.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Sudie Hunter.
She is survived by her husband, Elton Dugan; son Kevin Dugan; daughter, Pam Dugan McAdams and husband, Michael; brother J.E. Hunter and wife, Susie; and grandchildren, Sam Dugan and wife Meghan, Sarah Dugan, Shea Dugan, Elizabeth "Lizzie" McAdams, and Catherine "Cat" McAdams.
