Rose Violet Cace Sanders passed away peacefully on July 7, 2017. Born January 7, 1925 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Rose was the daughter of John Cace Sr.,and Anastasia Evasovich Cace.

For 24 years, Rose was a permanent substitute teacher from AC Steere to Stoner Hill to Riverside and many schools in between. Her zest for life was contagious and she was loved by many. Her church and faith meant so much to her. She was a Eucharistic Adorer for over 20 years at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Rose, always lively, was a story teller at heart, and enjoyed a good conversation, and a good laugh!  She was so proud to be an Army wife, and relished her regular shopping visits to the commissary and BX at Barksdale AFB. As a career Army wife, she was fortunate to live in many places, including Germany. Her home for almost 50 years, on the Mardi Gras parade route in Shreveport, where she hosted many a Mardi Gras party, was by far her very favorite. Above all else, Rose loved and was loved by her family—her husband Earl, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Rose is survived by her daughters Caroll Bosher and husband Steve, Kathryn Rose Schneider and husband Bill, sons Earl Edward Sanders, Jr., and Mark Herschel Sanders; grandchildren Vikki Parker and husband Brandon, Susan Contario and husband Josh, Ashley Schmitt and husband Peter, and Courtney Schneider; as well as great grandchildren Sydney Parker, Madelyn Parker, John Contario, Jacob Contario, Dietrich Schmitt and Wyatt Schmitt. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Col. Earl Edward Sanders, Sr., who she married on September 19, 1942 at Ft. Benning, Georgia. Preceding her also were her brothers, Jack Cace, and Johnny Cace.

Rose’s family will receive guests on Monday, July 10, 2017, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, for Rosary at 5pm and visitation until 8pm.

To celebrate her life, Father Karl Daigle will officiate a funeral mass for Rose Sanders at 2pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 211 Atlantic Avenue, Shreveport. Pallbearers are Josh Contario, John Contario, Jacob Contario, Brandon Parker, Kyle Davlin, Joel Davlin and Dylan Raybon. Burial will immediately follow the service at Centuries Memorial Park., 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport.
