Ruby Cox

Athens - Graveside services will be held for Mrs. Ruby Sanders Cox, age 88, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at Hurricane Cemetery. Rev. Tommy Davidson will officiate. Ruby was born September 15, 1931, in Oak Grove, Louisiana to Thomas and Beatrice Sanders. She entered into rest on November 11, 2019, in Athens, Louisiana with her loving daughter and son-in-law by her side. Ruby was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She worked at the Baptist Home in Arcadia as a cook. Ruby loved her flowers, and to be out in her garden. Ruby was a wonderful mother, sister and friend, and will be greatly missed by all those that knew her. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Beatrice Sanders, son Pat Cox, by 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. She is survived by her loving daughter Debra Diffey and husband David, sisters Martha Gunter and Lois Penn, brothers Thomas Sanders, Jr. and Lamar Sanders, by her fur babies, and by numerous other nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Roscoe Chan and the staff of Christus Cancer Treatment Center, and Premier Hospice, for their excellent care.
