Shreveport, La - A funeral service for Ruby Flowers Ponder, 90, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, with Chris Pate and Brother Larry Tucker officiating. Interment will follow to Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the funeral home. Mrs. Ruby was born on December 14, 1924 in Dodridge, AR, to Howard and Cora Flowers. She passed away on July 19, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. She was a homemaker and waitress, who took great pride into her customers, for many years before she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Cora Flowers, Sr.; brothers, Curtis, Artis, and Edward; sisters, Addie Zee and Retha Mae Crick. She is survived by her younger brother, Howard Flowers, Jr. and his wife, Ruth; daughter, Gloria Pate; grandchildren, Chris Pate and wife, Molly, Dana Batts and husband, Roger, and Alysia Connor; great-grandchildren, Daniel Batts, Tiffany Windham and husband, Timmy, Megan Pate, Elizabeth Pate, and Rosemary Pate, and numerous nieces and nephews.
