  Arcadia - Graveside services will be held for Ruby Pyles Salter, age 95, at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Williamson Cemetery. Bro. Don Woodard will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Ruby was born September 29, 1920 in Bienville Parish to John and Maude Smith Pyles. She entered peacefully into rest on Monday, November 23, 2015, in Arcadia with her loving family by her side. She was a member of the Cypress Springs Baptist Church. Ruby and her husband Henry ran a dairy farm. Ruby's methods of raising calves was widely known, and eventually ended up in an issue of Progressive Farmer. After working on the dairy farm, Ruby went on to work as a Teacher's Aide at Gibsland Elementary. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry Salter, infant daughter Patsy Salter, granddaughter Leigh Salter, brothers Buddy Pyles and Jasper Pyles, and by sisters Willie Lou Simmons, Agnes holiday, Mary Neal and Ethel Snowden. She is survived by her son Johnny M Salter and wife Margaret, sister Alice Strong, granddaughter Bonnie Alton, 5 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous other nieces, nephews and other family and friends. The family would like to thank Willow Ridge nursing home for the care and compassion they have shown the past five years. They would also like to thank Premier Hospice for their care and support during their time of need.
