Ruth Ann Garner

Keithville, LA - Ruth Ann Garner age 74, went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 12, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mrs. Garner was born to John Allen Ellington and Opal Ellington Wright on March 5, 1946 in Bernice, Louisiana. She was a member of the Joy Class at Providence Road Baptist Church and loved the Lord Jesus. She was a hairdresser for over 20 years in Shreveport, LA. Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by parents; first husband, Johnny L. Spurlock; second husband, J.W. Garner, son, Ricky L. Spurlock, Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Herndon and partner Mickie Shrout, Carolyn Deal and husband Billy; grandchildren, Crystal Clayton, Daniel Tull, Rachael Williams, Ricky Spurlock, Jr., Adam Spurlock, Sarah Spurlock, Tiffany Ellis Spurlock, JonAllen Eaves (her sugar man), Thomas "James" Eaves; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Hilda Coleman; daughter in law, Amy Spurlock; and one nephews, Jerry Sweat. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Providence Baptist Church, 11708 Providence Rd, Shreveport, LA 71129. Pastor Darrell Dean will be officiating the service. Graveside services will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Garner will be Ricky Spurlock, Jr., Adam Spurlock, Thomas "James" Eaves, Jerry Sweat, Billy Deal and Daniel Tull. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be JonAllen Eaves.
