Ruth Wade Fair Bigger A graveside service celebrating the life of Mrs. Ruth Wade Fair Bigger will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Plain Dealing Cemetery, Plain Dealing Cemetery Road & Hwy 157, in Plain Dealing, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Jeremy Smith, Associate pastor of Central Assembly Church, Haughton, LA. Mrs. Bigger was born on September 25, 1919, in Nix, AR, and departed this life on August 31, 2015 in Shreveport, LA, at the age of 95 years. She attended Vivian High School in Vivian, LA, and she was a resident of Shreveport & Blanchard for 70+ years. At her passing, she was a resident of Blanchard, a homemaker and member of Calvary Pentecostal Church, Shreveport, LA. Though she was largely homebound in recent years and not able to attend services, she loved Jesus, her family and her friends. She loved watching her favorite church services on TV, visiting with family and friends by phone and in person, and reading her Bible, and most anything else she could get her hands on. "Mother", or "Mom", was a great story teller and she was always happy to share stories from her life about her parents, brothers, sisters, friends, husbands & children. Mom loved writing poetry about her family and life experiences, and several years ago had many of her poems published in a limited edition by her church. While her life was not always easy, she maintained a kind, loving and beautiful spirit throughout her life, and it's hard to imagine anyone she ever met that was not soon her friend. Mom is preceded in death by her parents, Millard & Nora Wade, sister Ruby Warford, brother Charlie Wade, and husbands Leon Fair & Lawrence Bigger. She is survived by her children, Calvin Fair of Gonzales, LA, Johnny Fair of Yazoo City, MS, Rita Benson of Waskom, TX, Sherry Cabra of Cody, WY and their spouses, and Samuel Bigger and David Bigger of Blanchard. She is also survived by sisters and brother Gladys Lynch of Shreveport, Rosa Lee Sparks of Ruston, Katie Milner and Tommy Wade of Yazoo City, MS, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She is loved and missed by her children and all who loved her. All our lives have been blessed by being her children, family, and friends.
