HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mrs. Sarah Hunsucker, 72, at the Faith Baptist Church in Homer, LA on Sunday, October 11, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Don McCormick officiating. Interment followed in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden, LA. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East Fifth St, in Homer on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. Mrs. Hunsucker was born May 31, 1943 in Prescott, AR to J. B. and Alma Shelts Bradley. She entered into rest on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in Shreveport, LA following a lengthy illness. A registered nurse since 1963, she worked in operating rooms in Texas and Louisiana for over 20 years. Later, she ran coast to coast trucking with her husband for over 20 years. Mrs. Hunsucker loved to fish and visit with family and friends. Mrs. Hunsucker was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Daniel Pedraza and David Pedraza; and a sister, Frances Hamilton. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Howard Hunsucker; a sister, Bonita Cox and husband, Donnie of Dickenson, TX; a granddaughter, Brittney Pedraza; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Jason "Bear" Wells, Jameson Lee, Robert Kelly, James Matthews, Benjamin Spivey, Richard Gillingham and Donnie Cox. Honorary pallbearer were Gene Corbitt, Isaac Ruiz and Robin Matthews. In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Hunsucker, her family suggest memorials be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or Willis-Knighton North Medical Center in her name.
