Sidney "Sid" Myers, Sr. was born on June 7, 1928, in Logansport, LA to Charlie and Nancy Myers. Sid passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the age of 93. A memorial service for Sid will be held at a later date.
Sid was a resident of Logansport, LA. He graduated from Logansport High School. Sid worked several years for Beard Welding Company in Shreveport, LA, and Nabors Trailers in Mansfield, LA as a Master Welder. Sid was an innovator and a builder. He invented the original onion blossom make and also, a tool for the oilfield known as the Turbo-Flow Centralizer in 1961.
Sid was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Gregory Myers; his grandson, Stuart Greg Myers; his brother, Leonard Myers; his sister, Adele Ramsey; and two half brothers, Tillman Griffin, and Charlie Griffin. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 73 years, Bobbie Attaway Myers, his sons, Sid C Myers, Jr. of Logansport, LA, Michael Myers and wife Dana of Dudley, Georgia, Jeffrey Myers and wife, Joyce of Logansport, LA, Kevin Myers of Logansport, LA; his sister, Fannie Shaver of Mansfield, LA; his brother, Herbert "Rock" Myers, and wife, Rosella of Longview, TX; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
