Steven Gomez

Steven Rene Gomez, 65, of Bossier City, Louisiana fought his final war with pain and went to his heavenly home on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Pastor Justin Haigler will be officiating. 2 Corinthians 5:8 promises for believers, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Steve was born August 31, 1955 in Madrid, Spain to Arnold and Betty Lynch Gomez. Steve had a long and successful career in retail. He began at 7-Eleven while attending Parkway High School. He later regretted all the people that got lost after giving them wrong directions when they asked for them. After graduation, he went straight to Beall-Ladymon as a shoe salesman and rose in the ranks to become a buyer for the company. He finished strong at Spirit Halloween where it was hard to tell the difference between family and employees. The real Steve, the heart of Steven, could be summed up with faith, family, and friends. He had great faith, a family he adored, and friends, oh did Steve have friends. His heart's desire was to spend retirement doing good and helping people in the mission field, both local and overseas. He was a simple yet complicated guy. He loved to travel, and he and Charlotte had many great adventures. When the "horrible inconvenience" so rudely intruded, their travels may not have been as grand, but he made sure their shenanigans continued close to home. Steve is preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Teresa Ann Gomez. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Charlotte; sons, Jamie Gomez and Jason Gomez and wife, Guiel; six grandchildren, Marty and wife, Becca, Trevor, Joey, Bethany, Kylie, and Andrew; siblings, Mike Gomez and wife, Suzi and Betty Regenald and husband, Rick; many nieces and nephews; and too many friends to try and count.
