Sulyn Prince

Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for Sulyn Prince, age 69, at 2:00 p.m., on January 17, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Arcadia. Bro. Lobello will officiate. Interment will follow at Driskill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at First Baptist Church of Arcadia. Sulyn was born November 10, 1946 to Archie and Lera Sherman Merritt. She worked at the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center as a Deputy and Master Control Operator for over 10 years. Previously she had worked at the Claiborne Parish Detention Center and David Wade Correctional Center. Sulyn loved to garden, she loved her dogs and adored her children and her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Archie and Lera Merritt and sister Mary Jo Merritt. She is survived by her daughters Robyn Kelly and husband Ernest, Apryl Driskill Betteridge and Jami Hearne and husband Jim, grandchildren Sarah Tims, Stacie Roberson, Lauren Hines, Allyson Betteridge, Madalyn Betteridge, Jakob Hearne, Austin Still and Hadlee Hearne. Pallbearers will be Jason Marshall, Trey Copeland, Randy Culpepper, Eddie Moore, Jacky Barge, J.R. Lewis and Jerry McCoy. Alternate pallbearers will be Billy Collins, Damien Wells, Coby Barton and Thomas Rolen. Honorary pallbearers will be the Webster Parish Sheriff's Department.
