MANSFIELD, LA–Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Sylvia Sherwood, 77, will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Oak Grove, LA with Reverend Ricky McDonald and Reverend Troy Terrell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 6 PM till 8PM.
Sylvia was born on October 13, 1940 to Fred and Erma Deason and entered into rest on November 8, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Hugh” Sherwood; her dad, Fred Deason; her mother and her step-father, Erma Mae Smith and Calvin Smith; her sisters, Brenda Tholborn and her husband Bill, and Betty Jean Peterson; sister-in-law, Ruby Deason; and son-in-law’s, Jack Watson and Bobby Wayne Raborn.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are son, Jimmy Sherwood and wife Machelle of Carthage, TX; daughters, Patti Dejean and husband Gary of Anacoco, LA, Karen Rambin and husband Anthony of Evelyn, LA, Dottie Adkison and husband Boyd of Mansfield, LA, and Bonnie Raborn of Sibley, LA; brothers, Bill Deason of Mansfield, LA and Charles Smith and wife Margaret; sisters, Vicki Michelli and husband Tommy, and Brenda Mason and husband Tommy; sister-in-law, Ann Terrell and husband Jr; grandchildren, Angel Eaves, Derek Laffitte, Casey Files and husband Justin, Robby Raborn and wife Danielle, Chelsie Sherwood, Cole Adkison and wife Jamie, Sheldon Sherwood, Shelby Laffitte, Ashley Rambin, and Cheyenne Sherwood; great grandchildren, Brayden Laffitte, Bryson Laffitte, Memphis Raborn, Brody Files, Phoenix Raborn, Nolan Files, Ava Adkison, Addie Raborn, and Wesley Adkison.
Honoring the life of Sylvia as pallbearers will be Derek Laffitte, Robby Raborn, Cole Adkison, Sheldon Sherwood, Justin Files, and Jeff Webster.
Thank you to Superior Hospice for being so wonderful to our mom and family. Very special thank you to Tiffany, Jessica and Diane for the special care you all provided for our Momma.
