Funeral services will be held for A.E. "Ted" Johnson, age 91, at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Bro. Wayne Howington and Bro. Jonny Adkins will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 on Sunday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Ted was born July 24, 1928, to H.W. and Bessie Cook Johnson in Gibsland, LA. He passed away on July 26, 2019, in Shreveport, LA. He retired from LP&L after 40 years of dedication. Ted served his country in the U.S. Army/Air Force. Ted was an active member of Oak Grove Methodist Church, a Mason, and a former member of the Mt. Lebanon Historical Society. Ted was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be greatly missed by all. Ted is preceded in death by his parents HW and Bessie Johnson, grandson Bart Boyd, brothers Joe, W.C., Grady and Sid Johnson, and by his sisters Grace Smith and Nina Daugherty. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Bernice Smith Johnson, children Mitchell Johnson and Paula Boyd, grandson Caleb Boyd and wife Christy, great grandchildren Brooklynn Boyd, Brianna Boyd, Alec Brown, and Bryce Brown, by his sisters Louise Jones, Lennie Ritter, and Jackie Johnson, and by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Billy Rhodes, Jerry Rhodes, Robert Thomas, Aaron Clark, Phillip Towns, Mark Kidd, Loris Carter, and Tommy Youngblood. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Mt. Lebanon Historical Society.
