Theo Cockrell

On May 23, 2018, Theo DuMain Cockrell, our beloved Mother, also affectionately known as MawMaw and Nana Tay Tay, went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 88. Visitation will be between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home located at 2201 Airline Drive. A family service celebrating her life will be private. Theo was born on January 24, 1930, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Though petite in stature, she was large in spirit, with an immense capacity for love and nurturing. Our Mother taught us the value of a close family. Three generations will treasure memories of her laughter and love forever. Even as her memory was failing, being with family still brought her great happiness. Her joy will continue as she is rejoined with Bill, her late husband and her beloved grandson, Eric John King. She can now celebrate with Bill, as their 71st wedding anniversary will be May 27, 2018. Our mother passed peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. She was a woman of strong faith who read her Bible every day. She was a member of First Bossier and attended regularly until her health declined. Her sweet spirit will be missed by her two daughters, Pat Jones and husband, Charlie; Susan King and husband, John; grandchildren Kevin St. Claire, Shelby St. Claire and wife Aimee; Kristi Maynor and husband Scott. She has 4 great grandchildren, Tre' St. Claire, Owen, Eli and Rhett Maynor. She was also called MawMaw by Charlsie Crager, Amanda, Bryan, Jared Jones and their families. She is predeceased in death by her husband Bill T. Cockrell and her grandson Eric John King. She is also predeceased by her Mom and Dad, Bernice and Alphonse DuMain, two sisters Erlene Pitman, Corrine Mullins and her brother Ken DuMain. She is survived by one sister Ellene Roy. We would like to express our love and thanks to the staff at Aime' Hospice and a special thanks to Mom's caregiver, Helen Sheppard. You carried us through this long journey, and we will be forever grateful. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charity or church of choice.
