Mr. McCarty was born in Shreveport, LA. He moved to Gibsland, LA before moving back to Shreveport in 2000. He was a member of North Shreve Baptist Church, 6 Mile Creek Hunt Club, and numerous pool leagues. He loved to hunt and fish, but no greater love than for his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. He loved his job driving an 18 wheeler and seeing the country. He was always ready to shake a hand, give a hug, and tell you a joke and laugh. He loved sitting on the back porch with his fur babies, Miko, Lucy, and Ricki, alongside Pops telling trucking stories.

Mr. McCarty was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Nell McCarty; father, James McCarty; and grandparents, James and Laura Mae Hattaway. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 15 years, Loretta Corn McCarty; daughter, Amanda Bartlett (Danny); son, Michael Brandon Hawthorne; grandchildren, Logan Huff, Christina Bartlett, Dylan Bartlett, Tiare Hawthorne, and Colton Hawthorne; brother, James “Jimbo” McCarty; and his Pops and Maw, Richard and Nell Corn.

Pallbearers will be Danny Bartlett, George Free, Jesse Wheeler, Eddie Lindsey, J.D. Lindsey, and Dean Hawthorne. Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Bartlett, Logan Huff, Colton Hawthorne, Mike Hattaway, and Bubba Hattaway.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dreamhunt Foundation at or mailed to 315, Deer Crossing, Stonewall, LA 71078.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Robert Massingill and his staff for their kindness and compassion, Christus Schumpert Hospice, Jesse Wheeler, Bro. Cecil Marr, Shirley Free, and everyone who helped Tim feel loved and cared for these past 6 months.
