SHREVEPORT, LA – Graveside services celebrating the life of Verdine Holder, 75, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016 at NWLA Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Keith Rowe.

Verdine was born on July 30, 1940 in Darnell, LA to Quentis and Ruby Hemphill and passed away on December 29, 2015. She loved being a housewife and was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Gardening and her animals brought her great joy. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Verdine was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Estalene Monzingo, Jo Ann McMorris, and Bonnie Ford. Those left to cherish Verdine’s memory are her loving husband of 47 years, John Holder; son, Stephen Holder and wife, Julie; daughters, Gayla Warner, Dianne Hampton, Cindy Sellers and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Amber Perry, Shaun Hampton, Lauren Cox, Dana Chatelain, Jaden Holder, Isaac Holder, Ella Holder, Heather Sellers, and William Sellers; great-grandchildren, Fox Perry, Jimmy Holder, and Brantley Cox; sisters, Lynette Michel and husband, Gasper, Jerene Davis and husband, Roy, and Maurene Sims, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Southern Care Hospice for all the love and care they gave to Verdine during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made in memory of Verdine to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
