Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until service time Thursday
Arcadia – Funeral services will be held for Virginia Becker Pugh, age 87, at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 29, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Arcadia. Bro. Jeff Hoffman will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
Virginia was born October 6, 1931, to H.L. and Ada Fuller McGuire in Simsboro, LA. She passed away on August 23, 2019, in Arcadia, LA with her loving family by her side. Virginia was a life-long member of First Baptist Church. She retired from the Louisiana Army Ammunitions Plant as a Purchasing Agent. Mrs. Virginia loved her community, and the people of Arcadia. She was awarded the Heritage Award from the Bienville Parish Chamber of Commerce, where she worked for many years, making her community and town a better place.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, H.L. and Ada McGuire, granddaughter Emily Becker, brother Curtis McGuire, and by her sister Lorene “Red” Poulan.
She is survived by her sons, Fred Becker and wife Donna, and Mike Becker and wife Paula, grandchildren Chrissie Eades and husband Chris, Daniel Becker and wife Catherine, Michael Becker and wife Rachael, and Whitney Jarrell and husband Josh, by great grandchildren Molly and Mattison Fowler, Max Eades, Cora, Lilli, and Nathan Becker, and Ada and Ruby Jarrell, and by numerous other nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Poulan, Phillip McCrary, Gene Coker, Don Smith, Michael Becker, and Daniel Becker. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Eades, Josh Jarrell, and Craig Monroe.
The family would like to thank Willow Ridge Nursing Home for their care and love of Mrs. Virginia.
