W. C. Emmons

When daylight breaks, with morning dew You are, you are so good to me When evening comes, the day is through, You are, you are so good to me Your love is wild, your promise true You are, You are so good to me.

Heaven gained a true servant April 10th, 2018 just at dawn, WC (Boob) Emmons no longer shuffled, but jumped into eternity. Many saints were cheering him on to the finish line. Many sinners were hanging on.He was good. We will all be forever indebted to French Road.He used to always say his Momma would cook the biggest cathead biscuits. He'd stick his finger through the middle and fill it with his favorite molasses. Although, his momma could not shake a stick at his favorite chef, Mary Emmons. His true love. She never cooked a bad meal. Most knew him as Boob, others Daddy/Pop, some as grandad. What a fine one he was. He always said when you get in a hurry you get in trouble. He liked to take his time all the way to the end. The perfect combination of strength, wit, and compassion. Mira Myrtis was his home where a lifetime of memories was birthed. Undoubtedly, family was favorite. Watching us all grow in the midst of this struggle we call life was his heart's desire. He was the "safe place" where we could all find rest. Many generations will profit. Although his body took its very last breath, his beautiful legacy will live on for generations to come. Boob was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps many years ago where he did a successful tour in Korea. He was a jack of many trades. There was nothing he couldn\'t do, and if he couldn\'t do it he\'d make you think he could. He was retired from the Local 237 of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He was an entrepreneur at any chance he got. He loved the oil and gas industry and had a passion for wildcatting in and around his hometown. He was preceded in death by his father James Jackson Emmons Sr. and his mother Jessie Grunden Emmons, his brother James Jackson Emmons Jr. and one sister Katherine Norfleet. He is survived by his wife Mary Lee Emmons of over 60 years. His two daughters Debbie Boyd of Shreveport and Pat Parker of Vivian. He is also survived by three sons Bill Emmons of Washington, James W. Emmons of Florida, and Jamie Emmons of Vivian, LA; sister, Virginia Emmons Mosley of Florida. He is also survived by numerous beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Funeral services celebrating the life of Boob will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA with Rev. Ricky Bonnette of Ruston, LA officiating. Interment will follow at Gateway Cemetery, Vivian, LA. There will be a time of visitation on Wednesday, April 11th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

For I haven't given you a spirt of fear and timidity, but of power, and love and self-control Weeping endures for a night, but His joy comes in the morning.
