HOMER, LA: Mrs. Wanda Evans Ambrose, age 82, was born on January 23, 1938, in Homer, LA, to Larry and Mary Catherine Moore Evans. She entered into rest on Monday, August 31, 2020, in Homer. A private service will be held. Mrs. Wanda worked as a switch board operator for both Bell South for many years and later P&S Hospital. She really enjoyed being a PreK teacher at First Baptist Church in Bossier City, LA, where was a member for years. Wanda enjoyed traveling to the Middle East to visit with friends and shop for jewelry not only for herself, but for her family. Mrs. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her first husband and the father to her children, Thomas Floyd Gardner.She is survived by her son, David Thomas Gardner of Bossier City, LA; daughter, Kathy Windham of Homer, LA; three sisters, Diann Wilson and husband Dave of Lexington, SC, Judy Evans of Homer, LA, and Susan Pepper and husband Darrell of Summerfield, LA; brother, Danny Evans and wife Michelle of Bossier City, LA; three grandchildren, Lydia Michael, Lauren Spurlock and husband Colton and Joseph Windham; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Michael, Matthew Michael and Josie Spurlock; and her former husband, Dave Ambrose; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Wanda, her family suggests memorials be made to Gideon International, American Cancer Association, or Alzheimer\'s Association.
