KEITHVILLE, LA - A Celebration of Life service for Willa Brents Rio, 78, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, LA. Rev. John Harp of Brookwood Baptist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Willa was born on December 14, 1937 in Witts Springs, Arkansas to Homer Lee Taylor and Estela Horn Taylor Wages, and went to Heaven on October 22, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Willa was very faithful to her church, Brookwood Baptist Church. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and loved to go there on Friday nights and dance with all her friends. Willa put her family first, always making sure they were in church and prayed with them daily. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and they all knew she loved them with all of her heart. Willa was preceded in death by her parents Homer Taylor and Estela Wages; second husband, Bob Adams, and third husband, Charlie Rio; sisters, Jetty Johnson and Ruby Jo Willock; and brothers, Wallace Taylor and John Taylor. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Teressa Thompson and husband, Brad; sons, Stephen Brents and wife, Cindy, and Timothy Brents; grandchildren, Amee Hensley and husband, Stan, Melissa Walker and husband, Daniel, Lori Riffle and husband Jason, Joshua Brents, Jessica Bordelon and husband, Randy, Holly Brents and Abigail Brents; great-grandchildren, Chase Walker, Leanna Walker, Hayden Hensley, Nick Hensley, Luke Hensley, Jase Riffle, Hudson Riffle, Tyler Brents, Alissa Kilpatrick and Austin Boan; brother, Dub Taylor and wife, Jean; sister, Earlene Wages; Willa's childrens' father, Doyle Brents, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Honoring Willa as pallbearers will be Brad Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Jason Riffle, Daniel Walker, Chase Walker, and Hayden Hensley. The family would like to say a very special thank you to Willa's caregivers, Irene Thomas, Vanessa Persley, Jeanette Johnson, and Cherrie Freeman. Also a thank you to the staff's at the Cottages at the Glen, Amedisys Hospice Care and Dr. Richard Sipes. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials may be made to Brookwood Baptist Church, The Cottages at the Glen or the Alzheimer's Association.
