William Farmer, Jr.

Funeral services for William "Bill" F. Farmer, Jr. will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodridge Baptist Church, 850 E. Bert Kouns in Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chuck McInturf. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Avenue. Bill was born on May 31, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana to parents, William Frederick Farmer and Annie Laura Sheffield, and passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 in Shreveport. Bill was a dedicated member of the Woodridge Baptist Church where he attended Journey Sunday School class, whom he considered family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be remembered by them as a loving, kind man and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. William was past president of the Ellerbe Road Estates Home Owners Association and past president of the Pioneers. He gave over 33 years of dedicated service to Western Electric, AT & T and Lucent Technologies. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his dear wife, Martha P. Farmer; son, Will Farmer and wife, Cynthia; step-daughter, Andrea Burlison and husband, Russ; grandchildren, Michael Farmer, Ben Farmer, Ansley Fussell, and husband Zach, Rylan Burlison, Ashlyn Burlison and Annasyn Burlison; sister, Jo Ann Sanders; nephew, David Sanders and niece, Jennifer Jefferson and husband, Rick. Honoring Bill as pallbearers will be Michael Farmer, Rylan Burlison, Zach Fussell, Roger Rossett, Charles Rogers, Chuck Edminston, Kent Randall and Fred Lipsey. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to Woodridge Baptist Church, 850 E. Bert Kouns, Shreveport, Louisiana 71106. The family would like to thank Dr. Victoria Everton and her staff for such dedicated care to him, the Willis Knighton Home Health and the Advanced Cardiovascular Specialist for their diligent care.
