William "Will" Frederick Standke V Shreveport, LA- A memorial service will be held for Will Standke, 30, on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Derek Joyce of the First United Methodist Church, Shreveport, LA. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Our hearts are heavy with the passing of Will in an untimely death. William Frederick Standke V was born in Bossier City, Louisiana, on May 24, 1985. He passed away tragically on November 4, 2015, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, where he was a caregiver to his grandparents. He is survived by his parents William "Bill" Frederick Standke IV and Susan Oxford Standke; sister, Georgia Lorabeth Standke Mansour and husband Ashton; maternal grandparents, Oline and Irene Rhodes Oxford; uncle, Richard Oxford and wife Gail, their son, David Oxford, uncle, Roger Oxford and his sons, Aaron and Whitney Oxford and wife Julie, aunt, Marjorie "Missy" Standke Powell, and uncle, Brian Powell, their son, Walker Powell, and several second cousins. Will is predeceased by paternal grandparents William Frederick Standke III and Claudia Ross Dickson Standke, step-grandmother Ruth Orr Standke, and our beloved family friend Millard P. Snyder. An educated man, he graduated from Caddo Magnet High School in 2003 and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Arkansas in 2007. Will was an avid reader, collector, and lover of music. Will greeted all that he loved with boundless enthusiasm. Will believed that music healed the soul. As a visionary thinker, Will viewed the world as it should be. His passion for history, thirst for knowledge, and seeker of truth molded him to be a leader in his own way. His sensitivity touched all levels: family, friends, America, the world, and all God's creatures. Will's passion for history resonated in his heart and mind. Will would support German philosopher Albert Scheitzer's quote, "One truth stands firm. All that happens in world history rests on something spiritual. If the spiritual is strong, it creates world history. If it is weak, it suffers world history." Will's brilliant blue eyes, shining smile, and hearty laugh will forever live in our hearts. We know that his presence is with us every step, and his arms are wrapped around us. Will truly cared for his family and friends. Will's energy and level of thinking was such, that those who truly knew him and were his friends know that he will always be larger than life. As a modern day Renaissance man, William will always be our hero. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dan Evans, Nathan Hamaker, Brian Lapsley, Jordan Light, Ashton Mansour, David Oxford, Walker Powell, Staunton Sample, and Wilton Sample. A special thanks to his loving grandparents, Oline and Irene, who reign as angels on earth. We would also like to thank Kerri Rizzo for her unwavering support, gentle care and kind heart to his grandparents and to Will. The family would like to express our appreciation to Megan Hicks and Pamela Christenson with the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency (ARORA) for their compassion, sensitivity, and guidance through the organ donation decision. With Will's gift of life, other lives have been saved. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Northwest LA Humane Society, 2544 Linwood Ave., Shreveport, LA, 71103, Samaritan Counseling Center, 1525 Stephens Ave., Shreveport, LA, 71101, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
