William Travis Allison

Bill was born on August 11, 1942 in Donaldsonville, LA, to Fran Stringer Allison and Travis Reeves Allison. He died of a heart attack on Wednesday June 3, 2020, the 36th anniversary of his marriage to Nancy Dean Allison. Bill attended San Jacinto High in Houston, TX, but joined the Navy in his senior year instead of graduating. After the Navy, he attended McNeese State College. He took the LSAT test during his first year at McNeese and passed with flying colors. Bill enrolled in Tulane Law School and enjoyed telling friends that Tulane was the only school from which he graduated. After practicing in New Orleans and Morgan City, Bill moved to Shreveport where his career was about helping others. He served as a plaintiff's lawyer for almost 48 years and was well respected by his colleagues in the legal community. When he was not in the courthouse you could find him and his wife, Nancye, riding their Honda Gold Wing motorcycle. Bill was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where he served in many ways. Most recently, he found joy working with the Children's Ministry and supporting the Amoré/Low-Key Ministry. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Allison and brother-in-law, Lynn Armstrong. He is survived by his wife, Nancye, of Shreveport; his son, Morgan Allison and wife, Elizabeth; grandson, Alexander Allison of Houma, LA; his twin sister, Mary Armstrong, of Pearland, TX; his brother, Bob Allison, of Denver, CO; nieces and nephews, Ray LeBouf and wife, Jamye and Michele Marion, all of Pearland, TX; Debbie Hebert and husband, Bart, of League City, TX, Libby Bollino and husband, James, of New Orleans, LA and Robin Allison of Black Mountain, NC; Travis Allison and wife, Traci, of Morrison, CO, and Ashleigh Allison and wife, Marci, of Rockwall, TX as well as, numerous relatives and friends around the world with whom we have had so many fun times. Nancye would like to thank Dr. Shane Barton and the medical staff on the 8th Floor, Willis-Knighton Pierremont, for their kindness and compassion. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA is handling the arrangements, however, due to the COVID-19 safety precautions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials may be made to the St. Luke's United Methodist Church Children's Ministry, the Amoré/Low-Key Ministry, 6012 Youree Dr., Shreveport, 71105, or Common Ground Community, 6806 Southern Ave., Shreveport, 71106 or your favorite charity.
