Bill Tucker passed away June 7, 2017 in Shreveport, Louisiana after a 10 month long courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 23, 1953 in Farmerville, Louisiana to Mittie Gray and Woodrow Tucker.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his longtime friend for over 40 years, Lamar Bryant; one sister, Mrs. Patty Pickering of Kingwood, Texas; one brother, Donny Tucker of Farmerville, Louisiana; and 2 nephews and 4 nieces.

He grew up in Farmerville, Louisiana where he graduated from Farmerville High School and later graduated from Northeast School of Pharmacy in Monroe, Louisiana in 1978. He was the Director of Pharmacy for the Union General Hospital in Farmerville for over 8 years and then moved to Shreveport in 1986, where he was Director of Pharmacy for Cornerstone Hospital in Bossier City for over 31 years.

Bill was a devoted pharmacist and lived life to the fullest. He loved to travel and be with friends and family and especially loved to begin his day every morning with his exercise group at Willis-Knighton Pierremont. He was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the “Pew Pals” on row 10 of the sanctuary.

The thoughts and prayers from his family and friends were greatly appreciated during this time. The family would like to express a special thanks to the following people over the past year for their thoughtfulness, prayers, and concern: Dr. David Abdehou, Dr. Anil Veluvolu, Dr. John Holloway, The staff at the WK Cancer Center and WK Pierremont, The entire staff of Cornerstone Hospital, Mrs. Sherry Burnett, Mrs. Nancy Abel, Dr. Lynne Holladay, Gwynne Holladay, Mr. John and Tracey Cox, Dr. Dayne and Kathy Hassell, Rodney Guilliams, Gary Parker, Deann Floyd, Mary Jo Hicks, Judy Scotto, Betsy Peatross, Harriett Carroll, Joan Castellano, Kathy Willis, Steven Williamson, Doug Robichaux, Johnny & Diane Brock, Anna Livengood, Nanette Beach, Latoya Washington, and friends from WK Pierremont Health Center. We are extremely thankful and appreciative of the devotion and loyalty shown to Bill by all of his caregivers during this time. A special thanks to Steven Williamson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in Couch Parlor at First United Methodist Church. A traditional Methodist service will be held at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of the church with Dr. Pat Day officiating.
