Mrs. Joyce HowellWest died peacefully on September 10, 2015 in Shreveport, LA at the age of 65.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Benjamin West II? children, Jordan and Allison West, Benjamin and
Diana West III, Jason West, Adam and Lindsay West? grandchildren, Abraham, Sylvia, Zak, Haleigh,
Landry, and Jack? siblings, Grace Burke, Ronny and Judy Howell, Dale and Jo Ann Howell, Jan and Gene DuBois, and Steven Howell. She is preceded in death by her parents Dewey and Ruby Howell, and brother Randy Howell.
Joyce was born on September 20, 1949 in Benton, LA to Dewey and Ruby Howell. She graduated from Benton High School in 1967. She married Benjamin West, a retired Air Force master sergeant in 1993. After moving to Shreveport, she worked at Florida Tile as a sales representative, and Home Depot as a sales associate. Joyce was an accomplished designer and founded the West Company, a seasonal decorating business.
She was passionate about work, travel, and cooking, but mostly she excelled as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her children remember her as a kind and driven person who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Honoring Mrs. West as pallbearers will be Joshua DuBois, Jonathan DuBois, Zac Howell, Dylan Howell, Dennis Burks, and Zak West.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday, September 14, 5:00 to 7:00 pm with the funeral to follow on Tuesday, September 15 at 11:30, both at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier. Charles Beckham will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joyce’s life.
