Ada Frances Peyton died peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Frances was born on December 19, 1928 to Clinton Bass and Susie Bell Collins Peyton. Frances attended Judson College in Judson, Alabama and graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana. Following graduation she joined her mother as co-owner of Sue Peyton's Dress Shop.
Frances enjoyed her friendship with customers and employees of her dress shop for many years. Sue Peyton's was one of those special places where many fortunate brides received much more than just a gown. Frances is also well-remembered for her affection for her numerous dogs and cats (her special family) most of which were adopted.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Shirley Peyton and Suzanne Coburn, her nieces, Susie Bell Phillips and Fran Taliaferro and a great niece, Grace Peyton Massey. She is survived by her sister, Mary Clare Taliaferro; nieces, Mary Clinton Massey of Austin, TX; Susan Coburn Flynn of Shreveport, LA; Marjorie Coburn Garrett and Catherine Coburn Langford both of Oklahoma City, OK; and many great nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention.
Special Thanks go to her long-time care givers, Bessie Byrd and Gloria Sumblin. Also, to the staff at the Montclair Chateau for their exceptional care given to Frances in her final days.
A private graveside service will be held at Forest Park. A reception for friends and relatives will follow at Rhino Coffee Shop, 721 Southfield Rd. (formerly Sue Peyton's Dress Shop) at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014.
Frances was special to all who knew her who will cherish her memory for many years.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Robinson's Rescue, 2515 Line Ave, Shreveport, LA 71104 or St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
