SHREVEPORT, LA - Ada Lou "Cricket" Dill Pitre was born on August 30, 1915, in Coushatta, LA to Robert Newton and Ada Sudie Bates Dill. She passed away peacefully on September 17, 2016.
Cricket enjoyed celebrating her 101st birthday with family and close friends. She continued crocheting, playing bingo and visiting with loved ones until a few days before her passing.
Preceding Cricket in death is her husband, Charles Levi Pitre, granddaughter, Amy Michelle Pitre and great-grandson, Gary David "James" Robertson. Leaving to cherish her memory are her children, Peggy Richard (Don), Robert Pitre (Jimmie) and Cynthia Bond (Ken), six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.
Cricket will be remembered by her many friends and loving family for her beautiful smile and cheerful spirit, but especially for her cooking!
The family will have a private memorial at Cricket's favorite place to spread her ashes.
"Here she is Father, your girls' coming home. She has won her race, she has gained her glory, she will never walk alone. Here she is to walk beside you on streets of golden stone, to walk within your grace of goodness... your girls' come home."
The family suggests that donations in Cricket's memory can be made to Willis-Knighton Hospice of Louisiana or to the charity of your choice.
