Adam Drake Acurio was born on April 10, 1990, to Dr. Michael Thomas Acurio and Lisa Thibodeaux Montgomery in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Adam was a family-loving, smart, kind, and funny man. He was known as many different things; a best friend, a big brother, a loving son, and most importantly a devoted husband and incredible Daddy to his four adoring children.

Adam attended Bossier Parish Schools and was a graduate of Airline High School and Louisiana Tech University. He went on to obtain his Associate of Paramedic degree at BPCC. He served as a Bossier City Paramedic for six years. He also worked as a Paramedic at Willis Knighton Bossier ER. He had recently returned to school to pursue his interest in medicine.

Adam was a very active and energetic man. He loved watching and playing sports. He played basketball, baseball, and football and was on the wrestling team. He loved snow skiing and going to the beach. At age 10 he was the youngest certified scuba diver in the United States. He loved supporting the LSU Tigers and attending games at Tiger Stadium. He was also a huge Lakers fan and his love and obsession with Kobe Bryant was a bit concerning at times. He had a great sense of humor and loved playing pranks on his wife and children.

Adam was a friend to all. His smile and positive attitude brought joy to everyone he encountered. He was a family man. Nothing brought him greater joy than being the best husband to Isabella and the absolute best Dad to his children. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.

Adam Drake Acurio was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jake and Dorothy Thibodeaux, and paternal grandparents, Charlie and Barbara Acurio. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Isabella; adoring children, Ella Katherine, Giovanni Rose, Fallon Elizabeth, and Roman Drake Acurio; his beloved mother, Lisa Thibodeaux Montgomery and husband, David; loving father, Michael Thomas Acurio, Sr. and fiancé Courtney; best friend and brother, Michael Acurio, Jr. and wife, Ashley; brothers, Alex, Jacob, and Caiden Acurio; nephews, Braylon and Parker Acurio; mother-in-law- Cindy Anderson; father-in-law, John Anderson and wife, Joy; brother-in-law, Trace Anderson,  along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and brothers in the Bossier City Fire Department who he treasured.

Honoring Adam as pallbearers will be his brothers, Michael Acurio, Jr., Alex Acurio, Jacob Acurio, Caiden Acurio, Jake Bradford, and Garrett Towery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Trace Anderson, Mark Nelson, and his brothers serving on the Bossier City Fire Department.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Bossier City Fire, EMS, and Willis Knighton Bossier ER for their care of Adam.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
