Alberta Marie Meziere

SHREVEPORT, LA - A Mass of Christian Burial for Alberta "Marie" Meziere, 72, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church, 1050 W. Bert Kouns Ind. Loop, Shreveport, LA 71118. Father Francis will be officiating. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery, 2262 Hwy. 484, Natchez, LA 71456, with Father Charles Ray officiating. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service beginning at 8:30 a.m. Marie was born November 24, 1944 in Alexandria, LA to Leo and Alverta Metoyer, and went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 3, 2017. She worked as a telephone operator for 25 years. Marie was a faithful and devoted member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. Her love for God was so profound that she continued to pray and profess His grace and mercy into her final moments. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Alverta Metoyer; brother, Leo Metoyer, Jr.; brother-in-law, Felix Harris. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Andrew Martin Meziere; daughters, Denise Meziere and Charleen Meziere; son, Christopher Meziere; daughter-in-law, Lina Meziere; sister, Ruby Ann Harris; grandchildren, McKala, Christopher and Adriana, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Honoring Marie as pallbearers will be, Marcus Sarpy, Rodney Meziere, Kevin Drain, Jonathan Meziere, Dominic Metoyer, and Jada Suttle. Honorary pallbearer will be Kent Hawkins. "We've got a good God.
