Aldwin Whittlesy

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Aldwin Whittlesy, 71, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. John Harp will be officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 16^th at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Aldwin was born May 15, 1945 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Hasseltine and Clint Whittlesy, and passed away on November 13, 2016 at home surrounded by his family after a courageous and short battle with lung cancer. Aldwin loved life and his family. He retired from Beaird Industries as Business Manager after 39 years of service, then worked at the Bedroom Sleep Shop for 9 years. He was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. Aldwin enjoyed working in his yard and it showed year round. Aldwin was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Hasseltine Whittlesy, brother, Ingram Whittlesy, his in-laws, Jeff and Helen Veillon. Left to treasure his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Sandy Veillon Whittlesy; son, Stephen Whittlesy and wife, Darlene; daughters, Angela Hubbell and Carrie Warren; grandchildren, Blake and Kyle Whittlesy, Anna Claire, Leighton and Caroline Warren; sister, Ann Davis and husband, Ross; sister-in-law, Linda Frickie and husband, Steve, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Honoring Aldwin as pallbearers will Clint Davis, Clay Davis, Curt Davis, Jason Whittlesy, Blake Whittlesy, and Kyle Whittlesy. The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Chintapalli and Kate Young, AOCNP for all the care, love and support they gave.
