Alice Deane Kidwell

Alice Deane Kidwell, 83, formerly of Shreveport, La was residing in Gulf Shores, AL when she passed away February 4, 2024. Deane struggled with Multiple Sclerosis for 39 years but went home to her Lord after Brain Cancer was discovered In November.  

Deane is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bill Kidwell and daughter Dina Hadwin of Dallas Tx. She is also survived by brothers and sisters; Joe Merritt, ( Merineth) Atlanta, TX, Ronny Merritt Coushatta, La,  Buddy Merritt Dubberly, La,  Kitty Sue Lovelace, Minden, La, Jane Jones, ( Gene ) Minden, La, Mary Curry, Overton, Tx, Patricia Hollingsworth, Pleasant Hill, La, Melinda Edwards, (Jim) Pleasant Hill, La. Deane was proceeded in Death by Henry W. Merritt, father, her mother Nannie Lee Thompson Merritt, brothers I.T. Merritt, Harold Merritt, Tommy Merritt and Billy Redding. 

Deane's love in life was her family. She also enjoyed gardening and reading her Bible. For 39 years Deane battled with the progression of MS. Early on she walked with a cane, that progressed to a walker and later confined her to a wheelchair. During her struggles, she never allowed herself to ask why or look for pity. She remained strong. She never found the bad in anyone, only seeing and talking about the good in others. She was a remarkable wife, mother, sister and friend to those who knew her.   

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 and funeral services 10:00 Friday morning at Rose Neath Funeral Home-Minden La, with burial to follow at Garden of Memory Cemetery.
