AC is preceded in death by his parents, Allen Cade Smith, Sr. and Mary Ellen Morrow, Delouise Smith, his wife, Caroline Smith, his second wife, two sons, Lawrence Kimberlin and James Smith, and his sister Lucy Ward. For this, he was awarded the United States Air Force commendation medal. After the service, he went to work for Newspaper Production Co., the publishers of The Shreveport Times and Shreveport Journal, from where he also retired. He served faithfully for many years with his extended family at Haynes Avenue Baptist Church in Shreveport. AC enjoyed arriving early and getting the coffee started and providing donuts for all to enjoy. You could also find him greeting everyone at the church door and giving out "hugs". A service celebrating the life of Allen Cade "AC" Smith will be held Friday, February 9, 2018, 12:00 PM at Haynes Avenue Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Dr. Mike Anderson of Haynes Avenue Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery with military honors. The Smith family is thankful for the love and kindness shown from Haynes Avenue Baptist Church, Frisco Senior Center, Crescent Home Health Care, and Carestaf of Dallas.
