Altie Mae Miears

Mansfield, LA Celebration of life and going home service for Altie Mae Miears, 76, was held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Living Word Church in Mansfield, LA at 1:00 PM with Rev. Glenn Rogers and Rev. Buck Furlow officiating. Interment followed at Shiloh Cemetery in Springhill, LA. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta, LA from 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM. Mrs. Miears was born May 27, 1940 in Bradley, AR to Gus and Lucinda McDonald Adams and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 5, 2017 in Mansfield, LA. She had a contagious laugh, sassy attitude, and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ellis "Mr. Pete" Miears; sisters, Nettie Melviney Johnson, Ida Lee Adams, and Marzell Stanley; and brothers, Earl Adams, John B. Adams, Gus Adams, Willie Adams, and Charlie Adams. Left to cherish her memory are son, Earl Dean Miears and grandchildren, Caleb Ellis Miears, Joseph Zachariah Miears, Matthew Shane Miears, and Emily Grace Miears; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family whom she loved and knew each one dearly. Serving as pallbearers were Caleb Ellis Miears, Joseph Zachariah Miears, Matthew Shane Miears, Douglas Adams, Bruce Tackett, and Marty Hemphill. Honorary pallbearers were Ronny Clark and Jordan James. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
