Mr. Martin was born May 31, 1935 in Ruston. As a teenager he was friends with Hoyle and Doyle Chanler and later met their sister, Doris and they soon began their courtship. The 6\'4\" handsome, lanky boy with beautiful blue eyes won her heart and they were later married on November 17, 1952. They would later have four children.
Mr. Martin was a butcher at Barksdale Airforce Commissary for a number of years. Later he worked at the U.S. Postal Service where he later retired. After retirement he enjoyed early mornings drinking coffee and reading and sharing the word of God. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Not just the sport of it, but the peace and tranquility he experienced being with nature. Those that knew him will remember his passionate and tender nature. He loved his family and was protective of his lovely wife, Doris, until the very end of his life on this earth. Until we see you again.
