A Graveside Service celebrating the life of Amelia “Amy” Glorioso Wiggins, 93, will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 2185 Swan Lake, Bossier City, Louisiana, at 1:30 p.m. A visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Reverend Kelby Tingle.
Amelia Glorioso Wiggins was born on February 27, 1930, to Maurice J. Glorioso and Virginia Serio Glorioso, in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at her home in Shreveport, Louisiana.
“Amy” was a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a proud Catholic woman who attended St. Joseph in her early years and spent the rest of her life at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Shreveport, Louisiana. She worked for over 30 years as the secretary at Eden Garden Junior High School. She was tiny but MIGHTY, she had a feisty personality and wit. She was very outgoing and never met a stranger. She loved to shop and spent most of her time with her family and friends. She was a very special lady who was much LOVED by all.
Amelia “Amy” Wiggins was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Billy Ray Wiggins; parents; brother Anthony Glorioso and wife, Sandra; nephew, Rusty Glorioso. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Fred M Wiggins and wife, Donna; daughter Sharan McGuire and husband, Tommy; nephew, Marty Glorioso; grandchildren, Melissa Lowe, Matthew McGuire, Amelia R. Wiggins, Samuel Robison, Erin Corpening; great-grandchildren, Kinlee McGuire, Contessa Cason, Kaden McGuire, Emma Robison, Mitchell Cason, Connor Cason, Carter Robison, Collins Corpening, Finley Corpening and Lincoln Corpening.
Honoring Amelia as pallbearers will be Matthew McGuire, Matthew Lowe, Samuel Robinson, and BI Childers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Pete “Pistol Pete” Schuler and her great-grandsons, Kaden, Mitchell, Connor, Carter, Finley, and Lincoln.
The family would like to express special thanks to Life Path Hospital and nurse Jennifer and her sitters, Mary, Johnetta, Stacey, Nettie, Jacqueline, and Vera for taking such great care of their mother/mimi. They send all their love and gratitude for all the love and compassion that was shown to her during this time. Thank you for all you did for her.
