SHREVEPORT, LA - A celebration of the life of Dr. Andrew F. Jobe will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 in the Chapel of Rose-Neath Southside. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Brother Ernie Fegley will officiate. Dr. Jobe's family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Southside on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Dr. Jobe was born in Oil City, LA July 20, 1935. He entered eternal life May 13, 2016. Dr. Jobe received his Bachelor's Degree from Northwestern State University, He then attended the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. It was there that he served his clinicals and residency in Pediatric Medicine. Dr. Jobe served many families in Shreveport over his fifty years of Pediatric Medical practice. Dr. Jobe was called upon to serve his country in the U.S. Army as a Captain and served as Chief of Staff of the Medical Center at Fort Leonardwood, MO during that time. His many accomplishments include being a notary, a guitarist, and a Chess player. Dr. Jobe enjoyed playing music and entertaining patients at the VA Medical Center in Shreveport, LA.
Dr. Jobe was precede in death by his parents, Edward and Madie Jobe and a brother, John Henry Jobe. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Mary Henderson Jobe; son, Steve Jobe; daughter, Peggy Jobe Smith and her husband, Ted; grandchildren, Stephanie Jobe , Sarah Jobe, Jason Jobe Hewitt, Mark Adam Hewitt; sister, Margaret Jobe; brother, William Jobe; his special caregivers, Exie Neloms and Pamela Vasher; a host of friends, especially Bobby Lee and Judy Saunders.
Honoring Dr. Jobe as pallbearers will be Steve Jobe, Bobby Lee, Howard Haynes, Walter Lee, Howard Porter, and Dr. Warren Grafton.
Dr. Jobe's family expresses special gratitude to Dr. V.P. Blanchard for his compassionate medical care for many years.
