Andrew Monroe Lord, Jr

Graveside services for Andrew Monroe Lord, Jr age 95 of Vivian, Louisiana will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at Forest Park Cemetery, St Vincent Avenue with Rev. Bill Treadway pastor of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church officiating.

Mr. Lord was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on July 17, 1929 to Andrew Monroe Lord and Archie Morris and went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 4, 2024 at his residence in Vivian. He retired from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Vivian, he played in a blue grass band called the Blue Grass Buddies and was a ham radio operator for many years. 

Mr. Lord was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 70 years, Frances Love Lord and his siblings, Cleo Lord and Vida Green Beasley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Sandra Lord-Dodson and husband, Mitchell, Andrew Wayne Lord and Rose M. Lord (deceased), Randall Bryan Lord and wife, Lisa and Lynda Cain and husband, Paul. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristina Oliver, Andrew Eugene Lord and wife, Noelani, Michael Lord, Bryan Lord, Sarah Lord, Cody Rowe, Kalie Rhodes and Jonathan and Lindy Cain; great grandchildren, Carson Rowe, Hudson Rhodes, Parker Rhodes and El Rhodes.

The family suggest that memorials be made to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, P. O. Box 511, Vivian, LA 71082.
