LONGWOOD, LA-Services celebrating the life of Angela Shocklee, 33, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Carl Rhoads. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave. Shreveport, LA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
Angela was born July 8, 1982 in Shreveport, LA to Ted Allan and Marjorie Ann Bryson Shocklee and passed away on October 16, 2015 in Shreveport, LA from complications of heart disease. She lived most of her life on Ravenstree Farm in Longwood, LA. She attended Bossier Parish Community College, Louisiana Tech University-Ruston and Southern University-Shreveport studying Medical Office Specialist and Health Information Technology. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and received the Health Information Technology Outstanding Student Award. She was a faithful member of Westlake Baptist Church where she proudly and joyfully sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ted Allan Shocklee; paternal grandmother, Marilyn Shocklee; maternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Theodore Franklin Bryson; great-uncle, John Boyett and wife, Geneva. Leaving to cherish her memory is her mother, Ann Bryson Shocklee of Longwood, LA; sister, Erin Shocklee York and husband, Robert of Bossier City, LA; paternal grandfather, Sanford "Sandy" Shocklee of Shreveport, LA, uncles, Theodore Franklin Bryson, ll of Longwood, LA; and Gary Shocklee of Raleigh, NC; cousins, Blair Bryson Hood and husband, Jay of Shreveport, LA, Raven Bryson of Shreveport, LA, Wheeler Bryson and wife, Mandy of Bedford, TX, Adam Shocklee of Lufkin, TX, Natalie Thornton and husband, Jay of Lufkin, TX and beloved dogs Tucker, Max and Lexi.
Honoring Angela as pallbearers will be Wheeler Bryson, James Clayton, John Foster, Mike Jones, Robert Pennington, Rusty Rhame, and Robert York.
The family would like to express sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Tommy Brown, Dr. Reeves and the Emergency Room doctors and nurses of Willis - Knighton North for their compassionate care and support of Angela.
