A memorial service for Ann Sharon Underwood, 74, will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Ann was born in Bossier City, Louisiana on Wednesday, March 1, 1950. Growing up as a military child with her sister Linda, the family moved between Anchorage, Alaska, and Bossier City. When the family settled back in Bossier, Ann attended Green Acres Junior High and graduated from Airline High School in 1968. After graduating high school, Ann married Marvin Underwood on June 13, 1968. Ann and Marvin had their first child (Kevin) on January 15, 1971. Ann and Marvin had their second child (Gina) on December 30, 1975. Ann was a gypsy and liked to move around and lived in nearly every part of Bossier. When she and Marvin had seen enough of Bossier, they moved to Oklahoma, then Texas, then California, then Tennessee, then BACK to Bossier before finally settling in Glenwood, Arkansas.
Ann enjoyed being a grandmother and recently becoming a great grandmother. She loved all her children and grandchildren fiercely.
Ann had a ton of hobbies. She loved to garden. Her favorite plant to grow was roses. She loved beautiful things, and she loved to nurture. Ann was also an avid bird watcher. Over the years she has had many birdhouses, feeders, and bird baths. She would love to sit and either watch them up close or with binoculars. Overall, her favorite was hummingbirds. She would always brag about how many feeders and birds she had each year.
Of all her hobbies, more a passion than anything, she was an artisan Seamstress. Her particular area of interest was quilting. Ann always had a quilt on the longarm. Anyone fortunate enough to have one of her masterpieces can genuinely appreciate her attention to detail. Ann crafted quilts for family, friends and paying customers.
Ann was also a staunch Republican who felt obligated to share her opinions freely. She was proud to have received a number of Facebook bans back in the day.
As we reflect on Ann's life, we are reminded of her unwavering kindness, boundless generosity, and indomitable spirit. Her legacy is one of love and compassion, a testament to a life lived with purpose and grace. Ann leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though Ann is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. We find solace in the knowledge that she is now at peace, and we are grateful for the time we had with her. Rest in peace, Mom, knowing that your legacy of love endures.
