Annabelle Morris Gulley

A graveside service for Annabelle Morris Gulley, 101, will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Dr. Tom Harrison.

Annabelle, born October 8, 1923 in Hopkins, Missouri to Edgar and Hope Morris, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She graduated Valedictorian from Stockport High School in Stockport, Iowa, where she grew up on a farm. In 1941, the family moved to California. She met her future husband, Claude, in 1946 after World War II. In 1950, they moved to Shreveport and they joined Broadmoor Baptist Church in 1952. She was an active member of the Slay B. Sunday School class. Claude and Anne established C. Gulley Truck Service in 1965, operating it together for 40 years. She enjoyed rearing and guiding her children in the church as well as her church family.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 77 years, Claude Gulley. Left to cherish her memory are her son Michael M. Gulley and wife Sara; daughter Claudia A. Nelson and husband Howard; two grandchildren, C. Nicole Arendale and husband Richard and Johnathan Nelson, M.D. and wife Kathryn; great-grandchildren, Richard Arendale, Annie Arendale, Jane Nelson Arendale, Caroline Nelson and William Nelson and a host of other family members. 

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Michael M. Gulley, Howard C. Nelson, Johnathan C. Nelson, M.D., Richard Arendale, III, Richard Arendale, IV, William C. Nelson, Christopher B. Rothell and Jason Massey.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Deborah Johnson for the endless care given, to the staff at The Glen for their compassion, to the Broadmoor Baptist Church for their ministry to our family and to friends for their support given during this time.
